Welcome!
Alice & Henry Naturals was born from a love of nature and giving. The first wonders of nature for me were pine cones. There was a Pine tree on the front lawn of my elementary school . It was tall and broad, like a man on stilts with circular arms and a trunk of solid legs. To my eyes, it was pure splendor. Yet, the tree's splendor did not rival the cones, simple but intricate, that fell at its feet. I could not believe that something so beautiful could be free. I picked the cones from the ground and took some home every day. I didn't know what to do with them, I simply marveled at how they were made. I went on to collect rocks, acorns, sea shells and other wonders that came from the earth. Picking adventures for a city girl were limited but, I had role models. Mrs. Rashid, who lived next door, made stuffed grape leaves from the vine in her back yard. Mrs. Nelson, who lived across the street, made preserves from her pear tree and called my brothers and I over in late summer to pick our own bag of pears. My mother grew her own vegetables, and made tea from the mint that grew in our yard. So, years later, when I became concerned about bringing healthy food and products into my home, the notion of bringing things that I could grow and make myself was familiar. The art of Soapmaking intrigued me! I had heard stories of how my grandmother made soap out of left over cooking grease and pot ash, and how some women put peaches or whatever fruit they had into their soap. I began to see that soapmaking could reach beyond utility to be a creative process and this, along with the benefits of natural soap, encouraged me to research the soapmaking process. I discovered the properties of vegetable oils, butters and botanicals that can be used in soapmaking. Now, we at Alice & Henry Naturals use what we have learned to create products that nourish, uplift, and beautify. Feel for yourself!

Alice and Henry Mitchell, our grandparents, lived in simple surroundings. They raised seven children, grew their own food and were makers by necessity. They used the plants that grew around them to create healing serums and salves, but their most effective medicine was love and laughter. Alice and Henry taught us to share what we have and to treat others the way we want to be treated. Therefore, we will not share any product with you that does not meet our high standards for quality, capability and safety.
